This Wednesday when Sue chatted with me, I just know the HKJC bid was dropped. Sue said Charlie has announced this news at the beginning of this month, but at that time I may was in GZ office. And later also nobody told me. No wonder Charlie was nervous to assign some minor tasks to me when I replied 'no project need me' to his question 'why not come to GZ office' on last Friday.
I joined this company at the end of 2004, it is three and half years. Time fies!! They hired me because of my extensive experience on software testing and automated testing. But until now I only did 7 software testing projects, and none of automated testing. Each project last less thean 3 months, some even finished in one month. Most projects are toys projects, which is boring and simply, but the clients are picky and the product is not easy to be found a bug. I totally hate that kinds projects, no test plan, not test design, just test execution, execution and report a beatiful bug report!!! Actually I only acted as a general test lead, not a professional test expert or project manager.
Since company established GZ office and moved all toys and games projects to there from SZ office, I totally lost my future. If I realize my latter
fate at that time, I would not happy to teach/train the students in GZ office and gave so many good suggestion to management team. The only thing what I can celebrate is that I have a kid in this company. That period I has assigned in Centrify team and worked as a general tester. So awful, right!!! Once we sent my son to my hometown, company assigned me in toys team again, but this time is GZ office. From that time, I am suffering from travel between GZ and SZ. As agreed with company, I should stay in GZ office three days each week.
Earlier this year, I heard that company joined the bid for HKJC. And I continuous heard good news. During my PR, Charlie also promised me I can stay in SZ if we get the HKJC project. Now finally we failed and my hope is broken.
This is my second broken hope. The first one is Oracle offer. I got Oracle oral offer last Sepetember and kept waiting for paper offer from Sep to November. Finally got the EBS section was froze due to poor American economy. The Oracle recruiter was responsible to recommend another job to me, but it finally was pending again. How poor is my luck!! But last week I got recruiter's call to tell me the EBS is reopened, BUT!!(I hate But) the boss is discussing where it is established, two choices, Shenzhen or Shuzhou. A little hope again, right? So far this is last chance what I can expect to leave this company. Cross my fingers hope God bless me!!
I am also try to find jobs on the Internet. There are not much chances for me to find a better job which can be PM or test/QA manager and needn't OT too much. This year I haven't gotten any call from headhunter agency. This year may be a very difficult and different year for China. Increasing CPI growth, unstable stock market, poor American economy, strong RMB exchange rate, anti-Beijin 2008 Olypmics in French, Germany and US. Bless China!!!
