According
to a recent survey in Dalian, more than 70% of all the responders say
they chat for less than an hour with their family members every day.
"I am totally exhausted after I get home everyday. How can you
expect me to be in the mood of talking?" said Mr. Wu, who might well
represent most of the responders.
Ms. Sun and her husband both have many social intercourses, and they
haven't had dinner together for very long. "All the chats between us
are on the phone, and the subject is always 'hey, honey, I am sorry I
can't have dinner at home tonight,'"said she. "It seems so far away
from me since when I last chatted with him over our dinner table."
Nevertheless, many people chat more and more with their "cyber-friends" than with their family members.
Perhaps generation gap and the boring but demanding life should both
be blamed for today's decrease in family communication, but it still
counts to have a warm chat with one's family members. After all, that's
what a family is for, to care about each other.
