Today we went to a party. It's Dou Dou's 6 years old birthday. I can see his parents really made an effort: they decorated the room with colorful baloons, printed happy birthday on wall, and prepared a nice dinner for 6 adults and 3 kids. Plus a lovely blue birthday cake.

We played card games. Kids played ipods.

We had a nice time, social is human nature. In our heart, we desire some sort of interaction with others, we warm each other up when we get warmed up by siting close next to each other. But, there is a down side to this too. Time, everything in life takes time, just how much time we are willing to throw into partying? Of course it was fun, but was it the only source of fun? Are there any other source of fun that goes beyond "fun"? I am sure there is.

Life is all about time. Time is life. How do we spend our time, so that we could not only enjoy ourselves, but also grow ourselves? We want to than fun, we search meaning in life too.

I enjoyed tonight because we don't party every month. But if more frequent then it shall be less satisfying, after sensing a loss of time.

Weixin is getting trendy, and I am still an outsider. I had heard about it more than a year ago, and then another time from another occasion, and then again, and again. It starts to get me curious, and I started to really feel being left out when a friend told me that even the foreigner in our company are using it.

People search social life, from qq to blog, to face book, to mini blog, to weixin. People are rushing like flood from one chatting tool to another, as if trying to catch something, as if a drowning man trying to catch a straw, desperately. People wants to be "in", not "out" of a circle. Belonging is like a life jacket, it provides a sense of security.

My first reaction was: I was left behind. I had 2 choices, instinctively I want to catch up, install a weixin right away, so I would know who is there and what's happening. But my second reaction is: hold on there, wait a moment. What's the rush? So I am out, so what? Life require its own focus, am I not distracted enough now? Do I need more distraction?

Where people have moved from blog to mini blog, from mini blog to weixin? Like flock of fish chasing each other and following each other in water, we do the same because their others are there, our friends are there. We just want to follow, so as to feel being part of it.

Is it really so important to be part of it? Being part of group is like a sheep among many, you certainly feel warmer, more connected, more secure. Sure, we are social animal. But what about a lonely wolf? Is a lonely wolf less happier than a flock of sheep? Not necessarily. A wolf perhaps prefer to be alone, to be free, indipendent, to roam from one place to another, to be self-assertive, to to self-reliance, to be self-sufficient. Which is better? Hard to say.

I have a strong curiosity pushing me to register in weixin, and see what's going on in everyone's life. But what's the rush? People share their life, but still, each live their own life.

You work and you earn money, and you don't work you have no money. You are either happy or unhappy with your life, you either have a goal or don't have a goal in life. You drift in life, if you don't have a goal, then you see circles forming and changing around you. In the end, you still live your own life. No one can help you, you are in the center of your own stage, the audience may watch, may cheer, may leave. But you, your life's show goes on, as long as you live.

I decided eventually I will get a weixin, but not anxiously, not desperately, not immediately.
